William Louis Valentine Doubourg was born February 14, 1766, the son of Chevalier Pierre DuBourg de la Loubere et St. Christaut, Sieur de Rochemont, and Marguerite (Armand de Vogluzan) DuBourg. Elizabeth Ann Bayley was born in New York City in 1774. She married William Magee Seton, a New York merchant, in 1794.
